Planning For a Long Life - What Will You Do With An Extra 100 Years?

When you start to realise that you might have an extra 100 years or so left to live, it totally changes your perspective.

Listen in as Clif High, founder of HalfPastHuman.com, talks about how having to think in terms of a much longer life has changed how he approaches his life right now, and the implications of extended living on both individuals and society at large.

Clif High talks with Sarah Westall about planning for a much longer life

Some of the fascinating things that Clif and Sarah cover in this video include:

  • How we need to be changing our thinking to accommodate this new future, especially for people taking C60 olive oil and other life extension approaches
  • Why we’ll need to educate ourselves more than any doctor ever has, on nutrition, supplements, deficiencies and more
  • The legacy our society has of thinking in terms of a life that goes from 0 to 80
  • Why it makes no sense to live a longer life if we’re going to spend our extra years affected by disease and degeneration
  • The new strategy we’ll need to create around our new, longer life
  • What we’re aiming for is to feel great when we die, so we need to alter everything we’re doing now
  • How Clif has changed his diet, especially around gluten, to improve his health
  • The new questions we need to be asking ourselves to stay in optimal health ongoing
  • Whether science and technology has the ability to tell us what we need, and the ancient health systems that may hold the answers
  • Why it’s important to start making changes now, instead of when we get sick or start losing our abilities
  • How our food chain is currently not set up to support good health, and the things that will have to change
  • What we can do to affect our own experience, and potentially also help those around us
  • Why practicality is going to be essential in any new strategies or solutions that we come up with
  • Why going with the flow, and finding ways to harmonise with those around us is so powerful
  • The kinds of ethical systems and disciplines we’ll need to create to support our new approach to life
  • Why morals and religion are not able to provide us with the guidance we need to create a new way of life
  • Some amazing statistics about the number of people that this planet is actually capable of supporting
  • How non-alcoholic fatty liver disease might be the biggest silent killer affecting humanity
  • Why dealing with the food issue is central to creating health and vitality in a long life

And so much more!

My absolute favourite quote from this interview is from Clif High, who says he wants to:

“Die very young and healthy at an advanced age.”

Isn’t that something incredible to aspire towards?

Hi Paul – may I ask what you put in your morning green smoothie? Also I always find it tricky (for digestive reasons) to have something really cold first thing in the morning – any tip? Cheers

      Hi Valerie,

We blend our smoothie in our Vitamix until it’s warm (about 35-40°C – it tastes better that way) so there’s no having to deal with something cold first thing in the morning.

Our recipe keeps evolving based on seasonality (and if we discover a new powder to add), but here’s what we currently do:

      Breakfast Green Smoothie Recipe
      ——————————–
      2 bananas
      2 apples
      3/4 cup hemp seeds
      1/2 cup mango
      2 tbsp hemp protein
      4 tsp hemp seed oil
      1 tsp chlorella powder
      1 tsp spirulina powder
      1 tsp broccoli sprout powder
      1 tsp alfalfa powder
      1 tsp barley grass powder
      1 tsp blueberry powder
      1 tsp kale powder
      1 tsp spinach powder
      1 tsp beetroot powder
      1 tsp chaga powder
      2 cups water

Blend in a high-speed blender (e.g. a Vitamix or Thermomix) until smooth and warm.

This makes about 1200ml and we split this between the two of us and that’s all we have for breakfast.

Of course, you can pick and choose your own selection of green / purple powders based on what’s most important to you.

      Enjoy!

      Hi John,

Yes, both shungite and shilijat have C60 in them.

  • Hi,
I’d like to ask how you take C60? Do you take it on its’ own or with water (distilled or tap), substances. I tried it in the past with a mixture of distilled water, apple cider vinegar, hydrogen peroxide 35 percent food grade, msm and dmso.

    Regards

    Bob

      Hi Bob,

The C60 we sell is dissolved in edible oil (olive, coconut or avocado). C60 itself does not readily mix with water, and if taken directly (as a powder) the body will not absorb it at all. In order for the body to be able to take it in, it has to be dissolved in the oil. The mixing of the oil with the C60 is a 2 week process, but unlike in water, it actually does dissolve in oil.

Once dissolved in oil, it can be taken on its own, or mixed with food. Mostly I take mine mixed with a green smoothie at breakfast time, though I do occasionally also take a teaspoon directly. The taste is a little sharp, but I find that eating an apple directly afterwards will fix that.
